Earth Creations evolved from what started as an unsuspecting bike ride. One day after a storm, Joy went for a ride on her mountain bike and ended up covered with red clay. After years of washing and use, the shirt, socks and shoes were still stained with mud! When Joy and Martin meet several years later, he became intrigued with the strength of the red clay and an idea was sparked. Because of his background in chemistry, his interest in the environment, and a natural curiosity he began experimenting with the idea of dyeing T-shirts with clay.
That was more than 10 years ago. 'EC' garments are still dyed with natural clay dyes using the process Martin originally developed. Now, 'EC' offers a full line of organic T-Shirts for men, women, and children. They also have a complete women's casual wear line made from sustainable fibers and clay dyes, as well as bright low-impact dyes.
Earth Creations is proud that their clothing line is made in the USA by people like you and me. They support the Fair Trade and Sweatshop-Free Philosophy for sustainable living. "Our goal is to offer the highest quality products that are made by fairly paid workers regardless of whether the garments are manufactured in the USA or elsewhere. The earth creations sewing facility, where most of our garments are sewn, is located in rural Alabama. Our employees are paid a fair wage and work in a clean and safe environment. They actually believe in what they do. Hopefully, by providing them with jobs, their work will keep a piece of our rural American culture alive."
