Art Opening and Reception

Vic West - Hemp & Company, 422 Craigflower Rd, Victoria
Artist - Shellyse Szakacs

Wine & hors d'oeuvres reception at 4 PM on Saturday March 1 ending at 5:30. Everyone is welcome.

Sergei Boutenko’s Wild Edibles Workshop – March 16th, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m.)

Location: Garry Oak Room, Fairfield Community Centre, 1335 Thurlow St. ~ Victoria
Advance Tickets: $10.00 available at Hemp and Company – 547 Johnson Street
Tickets at the Door: $12.00

Sergei Boutenko will be teaching a three-hour interactive evening workshop. In his talk, he will address some key points about raw food, discuss why eating green leafy veggies is so important, and transition to the identifying and eating of wild edibles. Wild edibles and weeds grow outside year-round and are much more nutritious than even the best organic greens found on the market. Weeds are free and accessible to people from all walks of life. For this reason and many others, Sergei will be dedicating a large majority of his talk on the topic of "wild greens." For additional information, please visit http://viva-raw.seedwiki.com and www.harmonyhikes.com or contact Superfood Sarah at (250) 514-8614 (Victoria) or superfoodsarahmaria@gmail.com

The Body Landscape

“I have long been compelled to explore, express and make conscious the internal forces that shape and propel growth. I believe that the same forces that move through our bodies, move through our psyches and also move through plants, trees and the earth itself. My paintings are evocations of the numinous quality of Eros, as it merges and emerges interplaying with form and space, light and shadow, movement and stasis, self and other, human and nature”.

Shellyse Szakacs is an artist (BFA Hons1987), transpersonal therapist and organizational/community development facilitator. She is the Founder and first Director of Salt Spring Transition House. She lives on Salt Spring Island with her three wondrous young daughters.
