The Good Seed Grain Merchants
We are happy to carry some new products, hemp seed and hemp flour from this Saskatchewan, family based business.

Vic West Fest
On Saturday May 10th, the annual Vic West Fest will get underway from 10-2 and H & C will have a table set up in the park beside the Vic West Y
"A day to recognize all that is happening in Vic West and to celebrate the diversity of the neighbourhood"
Here's a family event with lots of entertainment and refreshments.

The Two Fest 2008 is a grass roots musical collaboration with a ‘call to action’ around environmental solutions. Two Fest empowers audiences to take 'easy access' actions to reverse global warming by reducing household carbon footprints. Two Fest embraces cultural diversity, environmental consciousness to step up the action.

Group Art Show and Studio Tour
Vic West - Hemp & Company, 422 Craigflower Rd, Victoria
As part of the Vic West Fest, H&C at 422 Craigflower Road is exhibiting a group of neighbouhood artists who will be conducting studio tours on May 10th.
Their works will be displayed there for the whole month of May so do drop in. A map of the studio tour is also available at the shop.

Hemp Petition Presented in the House of Commons
Hello Yasmin and Denise,
Wow, we are ecstatic that our work has come this far.
Today is the Earth Day celebration in Victoria and this is where our idea germinated. And now you have brought it to fruition.
We know that the work is not finished and we will continue to promote the great benefits of hemp as best we can.
We plan to present packages of informational material to our legislators about how hemp growing can stimulate the Canadian economy without damaging the environment. Perhaps they will then help Canadian farmers by promoting the construction of a processing plant.

Mr. Speaker, I have a very interesting petition to present on behalf of many Victoria residents. They are asking the government to recognize that industrial hemp is a valuable fibre and a large biomass source since it could be used to replace many commonly-used problematic materials. I am wearing a shirt made of that material right now.
Industrial hemp could help farmers look to diversify their farm operations, so the petitioners are asking the government to invest in the construction of industrial hemp processing facilities to utilize the pulping of Canadian industrial hemp when making paper and other products and to utilize industrial hemp biomass in the making of biofuels, instead of food for fuel.
I am very pleased to present his petition on behalf of my constituents.
